AMD kicked off CES with a round of announcements for all their products stack and enthusiasts and gamers were very focused on what they had for consumer desktop. We weren’t disappointed as AMD unveiled their Ryzen 7000 X3D CPUs comprising of 3 SKUs:
- Ryzen 9 7950X3D
- Ryzen 9 7900X3D

The Ryzen 7 CPU gets the most highlight as the gaming performance leader due its entire CCD receiving an entire helping of 3D V-cache versus the split solutions on the Ryzen 9 X3D CPUs.
AMD Ryzen 7000 X3D Packaging Design
Going back to our article subject, AMD has now released mock-up images of their final box art for their 3D V-Cache CPUs for Ryzen 7000.
Featuring a brighter orange highlight than the traditinal Ryzen orange, AMD’s Ryzen 9 and Ryzen 7 X3D products will ship in a similar packaging than the standard non V-cache models but feature the brighter coloring. The box will also have a 3D V-Cache label to denote the distinction.
Going by the box design, it is most likely that AMD will not ship stock cooling with their X3D CPUs.
The Ryzen 7000 3D V-Cache CPUs will go on sale starting February. You can read more from the announcement here.
