Seriously, ASUS? All these reveals on a holiday weekend? In all seriousness, ASUS Taiwan is slowly dropping their models for the ROG x EVANGELION project that they teased yesterday.
Following the pre-order photos of the ROG STRIX GAMING RTX 3090 EVA Edition a few hours before this article, we now get our first look at the ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z690 HERO.
The image above looks to be an official mock-up which shows up a heavily stylized recolor of the ROG MAXIMUS Z690 HERO motherboard. The biggest highlight here is ASUS’ change to the Polymo I/O shroud lighting which features a faux AniMe Matrix lighting which is now swapped by a silhouette lighting of the EVA-01 unit from Evangelion. The entire shroud also gets a makeover with painted panels lines and insets. The apple green highlights are there plus a slight hint of tan on the ROG logo. A giant EVA-1 is emblazoned on the PCH area of the shroud, replacing the large ROG logo.
The ROG MAXIMUS Z690 HERO EVA Edition is still the same motherboard and wil perform the same as the original board.
Pictured above are the highlights of the motherboard which includes the Polymo lighting for the I/O shroud as well as built-in Thunderbolt4. ASUS ROG also includes a recolored PCIe Gen5 SSD daughtercard for high-speed storage expansion.
