BigViper puts Maxwell through its paces with this EVGA GTX 980 review from PinoyUnboxing:
[signoff icon=”quote-circled”]The GTX 900 Series proves that a powerhouse card need not be power hungry. As the Laws of Physics dictates that for every work done is directly proportional to the energy consumed. The Maxwell Architecture is such a wonder that NVIDIA has been kneading to perfection since it started with the Kepler designs and its bearing fruition. The EVGA GTX 980 SC is part of that wonder, proving once again its supremacy in performance as it tries to lead the pack with the EVGA GTX 980 SC Edition…[/signoff]

The GeForce GTX 980 an GTX970 are the latest graphics cards from NVIDIA powered by their next-generation Maxwell architecture GPU. The cards are rated for an impressive 165W TDP and 145W TDP respectively and will replace the GTX 770, GTX 780 and GTX 780 Ti in NVIDIA’s current product stack of GPUs. That will put the NVIDIA GTX 980 at the top of the GeForce hierarchy while the GTX 970 follows followed by the GTX 760, GTX 750 Ti and GTX 750, and so on.
NVIDIA GTX 980 reviews have been quite positive citing performance rivaling the GK110-based GTX 780 Ti while the GTX 970 replaces the GTX 770 and 780 in the stack playing around that level of performance with a lower TDP. Speculations are floating around that a beefier GTX 980 Ti will make its way to the market but this is currently just speculations for now so don’t quote me on that.
The new Maxwell-based GTX 980 and GTX 970 feature new NVIDIA technologies including DSR (Dynamic Super Resolution): a downsampling technology which automates the process and allow lighter games to run at more than 4K UltraHD resolution on lower-resolution displays.
The GeForce GTX 980 price is set at $549 and the GeForce GTX 970 will arrive priced at $329 and are already available worldwide. Check with your local retailers and e-tailers for pricing and availability.
I WANT IT!
