It’s all about two things for motherboards these days; you’re either for gaming and overclocking. Most companies prefer to be distinct about their product stack but one company in particular just lumps them all together in one brand. We’re talking about ASUS and their Republic of Gamers product line which I bet all of you know is pretty much geared for OVERCLOCKERS. The new line of ROG products though breaks this mold partially with the introduction of the MAXIMUS VI HERO(click for our review) and MAXIMUS VI IMPACT. Regardless, the king of the hill in the ROG series is still the one that holds the EXTREME designation and we have just that for review today; the MAXIMUS VI EXTREME.
ASUS makes no claims that this board is a gaming board: it is an overclocking board through and through and the specifications alone screams all that. We’ve heard the buzz surround this product way before we’ve ever gotten our hands on it and its time we see for ourselves if the negative air surrounding it is warranted. Let’s see if the MAXIMUS VI EXTREME is worth more than the bragging rights. Read on!
