Just a few days after Invictus Gaming receives the first team invite, Valve releases details of the biggest DOTA 2 event to date.  The International 2013 brings to us the world’s top 16 teams on their 5-day main event on August 7-11 that will once again be held in Benaroya Hall in Seattle, Washington, USA.
Out of the 16 teams to participate in the main event, there will be 13 teams who will receive a direct invite. After the first invite for last year’s champion, iG, we can now expect the release and receipt of the remaining 12 official invites over the next few days. Two slots of the remaining three slots will be taken by the winners of the Eastern and Western qualifiers. The runner up for each of the qualifiers will then contend for the last slot on the Wild Card match that will be held right before The International begins.
Western Qualifiers (8 teams)
May 13-19, 2013
Hosted by GDStudio
Eastern Qualifiers (8 teams)
May 20-26, 2013
Hosted by BeyondTheSummit
While details for attending in person have yet to be released, a lot of fans will be happy to learn that all matches will be free to watch via Dota TV. So mark your calendars, fix your schedule and tell your friends because this year’s biggest DOTA 2 championship is something you wouldn’t want to miss!
