The GeForce RTX 4070 will be built with the AD104 GPU, used by the RTX 4070 Ti. The RTX 4070 will arrive with less cores than the 4070 Ti but will have the same memory configuration at 12GB of GDDR6X on a 192-bit bus for the RTX 4070 Ti.
This effectively could see the RTX 4070 sports around 5888 CUDA cores with 12GB of memory. The card power rating is expected to be around 200W. For reference, the RTX 3070 was a 220W card and with NVIDIA’s current card power behavior for the RTX 40-series, this may be lower in actual application, peaking only in specific scenarios.
It was previously reported that NVIDIA could launch the RTX 4070 and RTX 4060 simultaneously but with this bit of news we’re looking at another staggered release with the possible apperances of an RTX 4060 or a 4060 Ti still set for later.
Pricing is still unknwown for the RTX 4070 with less reliable sources suggesting a >$700 price tag. The RTX 4070 is expected to perform around an RTX 3080 Ti and RTX 3080 or RX 6900 XT but will support DLSS 3, giving it a leg up in games that supported the new Frame Generation technology which in recent news will see it on new and older games like Diablo IV and Forza Horizon 5 as well as Redfall.
