This card completes the original trio of RTX 40 cards previously announced by NVIDIA but was later changed to remove the RTX 4080 12GB variation leaving only a single RTX 4080 SKU. The fate of the RTX 4080 12GB is now clear as it sees a more formal SKU as the RTX 4070 Ti. Still retaining 12GB of GDDR6X memory, the card will have 7680 CUDA cores clocked at 2.61Ghz boost. As a 40-series card, it carries many of the features of the RTX 40 line-up including DLSS v3 and Frame Generation as well as AV1 acceleration amongst other.
As with the other RTX 40-series cards, NVIDIA is focuing on their full-stack technology as the performance highlight rather than pure raster performance. The RTX 4070 Ti with raytracing is expected to perform 3.5x faster than the RTX 3080 but with Frame Generation enabled.
The RTX 4070 Ti is expected to have an $800 price tag and is expected to be announced on January 4th on CES 2023 via NVIDIA’s keynote.
