I had a PSP Go for a brief period of time, and though I thought it was a nifty little machine. Thing is, for a download-only device, there’s a huge disparity between the availability of physical and digital releases of certain big-name titles and even older PSP games. Sony hopes to rectify this with the release of their upcoming successor to the Playstation Portable, the NGP (Next Generation Portable).
Andrew House, president of Sony Computer Entertainment Europe told MVC that all games released on the NGP will have both a physical and digital release. According to him, “Just to clarify that, all games that appear physically will be made available digitally.”
This is great news, considering that here in the Philippines, we have yet to catch up with internet connection speeds in more developed countries. Add that to the fact that there are still people who still love having physical copies of games on hand or as part of a collection, and it looks like everyone wins.
