Leaked slides reveals that MSI is readying smart power supplies under their MEG series of products dubbed the MEG Ai P-series PSUs.
The leaked slides highlight some of the key features of MSI’s new products including the newer PCIe power connectors with 12VHPWR 16-pin connectors capable of 600W.
One of the key highlight is MSI’s adherence to ATX v3.0 spec that PSUs should be able to handle power spikes up to 3x their target e.g. 1350W for the 450W connector. In current design, the PSU would shutdown due to triggering its safety mechanism with overall capacity also specced up to twice the advertised capacity e.g. 2000w for the 1000W version et al.
MSI will also include USB readouts for the PSU with monitoring for vital information about the power supply via internal USB header and will be available iN MSI’s Gamer Intelligence app.
No information on availability and launch period have been released yet.
