Life is Strange: Before the Storm, the prequel to the smash-hit Life is Strange is coming out in a week; and its new trailer hints the game’s story.
The trailer, straight out of Gamescom 2017 in Germany, features a bratty 16-year old Chloe Price as the protagonist. Quite a contrast when compared to original protagonist, Max. This time, no time travelling is involved. Moreover, the game adds a new ability and mechanic wherein Chloe could talk back to adults. Called “Backtalk”, this ability allows Chloe to provoke people to get what she wants. This ability is, for the most part, used against adults.
If you’ve had enough of teen melodrama from the original game, then this game may not be for you. However, developers are actively working on a sequel to Life is Strange, along with this prequel, so you may want to take a look at that instead.
Life is Strange: Before the Storm’s first episode “Awaken” will be released on the PS4 and XBox One this August 31.
