VideoCardz is reporting from their sources that Intel’s upcoming Raptor Lake platform will support DDR4. While this may be inferred given all the information we already know, there has been now outright confirmation as of late to confirm this hypothesis. If this piece of information is to be believed, this upcoming slate of Z790 and H770 motherboards will support DDR4.
Raptor Lake will accompany these new motherboards later this year with a potential launch window of around late Q3. Raptor Lake will double the amount of E-cores bringing it up to a total of 24-cores at max on the high-end side. This approach bridges the core count and performance disparity that currently exists between AMD and Intel.
AMD on the other hand is seemingly locking out DDR4 and will only support DDR5 on their new Socket AM5 platforms.
