The Civilization series has been dominant throughout the years becoming one of the most popular and successful RTS games to date. Their unique style of gameplay where you could build your own empire by building cities, researching technology, and through warfare makes the game unlike any other.
That being said, AMD announces it’s partnership with 2K Games and Firaxis to make Civilization VI an AMD optimized game.
According to the article:
” (to) implement DirectX 12, explicit multi-GPU and asynchronous compute to Civilization VI when it launches on October 21. There will be a built-in benchmark, too. From the veteran HD 7970 to the brand new RX 480, we’re already working hard to bring an uncompromising experience to many years’ worth of Radeon™ graphics cards.
We’ll have lots more to say about this ambitious project on the road to release, but for now we’ll start with the official press release.”
We are yet ecstatic for the release of Civilization VI and because of the recent announcement, we are intrigued to see how much of a performance difference would Civ VI be when comparing Nvidia and AMD cards.
