Prior to the RTX 40-series cards, the ASUS x NOCTUA edition graphics cards (see our ASUS RTX 3070 NOCTUA Ed. review) were ASUS’ thickest graphics cards. That being said, with the RTX 4090 and RTX 4080 debuting 4-slot cooling on graphics cards, its now more logical to see what ASUS and Noctua can do with their combined strength and the wait shouldn’t be long from now.
A ChipHell report is suggesting that ASUS may announce a continuation with their Noctua partnership. No specific graphics card model was named but with the cooler mass of the ASUS x NOCTUA cards before, it is possible ASUS could opt for any of the currently relased models such as the RTX 4090 and RTX 4080 or the yet unreleased RTX 4070 Ti.
The RTX 3070 ASUS x Noctua card is nearly a whole kilogram lighter than the ROG Strix RTX 4080 which shares its card design with the RTX 4090. ASUS could pull a similar approach and stylize a new shroud for their RTX 40 card but give it Noctua’s new NF-A12x25 chromax fans.
