Back2Gaming Survey Results – Why Do You Use Windows for Gaming?

In the survey that we conducted from February to August 2018, we asked our visitors why they use Windows for gaming. A total of 365 respondents answered our survey and here are the results: About 43% of the respondents use Windows because their favorite games are only available on Windows. It's not really surprising since more than half of Steam's Most Played Games and Top Sellers in 2017 are only available on Windows. Wine can be used to play Windows games on Linux but not everyone is willing to manually configure Wine just to play their favorite games. This is probably the primary reason that pushed Valve to implement a new feature of Steam Play which enables Windows games to be played within the Steam Linux client. B2G December 2017 Survey Results: What Operating System Do You Use On Your PC?

In the survey that we conducted from December 4, 2017 to February 7, 2018, we asked our visitors what is the OS (operating system) they use on their PC. A total of 419 respondents answered our survey and, as expected, those who only use Windows took the top spot. To those who do not closely follow the OS market share results of the Steam Survey, Linux market share has a declining trend and is currently at 0.41% based on the January 2018 results of the Steam Survey. The results of our own survey confirms our theory that it's possible that the true Linux market share maybe larger than what Steam Survey currently reports. We are not saying that the Linux market share at Steam would shoot up to more than 20% if Valve...

Wait.. Blizzard Just Updated Diablo II

Now, to show Blizzard's love for the said community, the gaming behemoth just released an update to keep things running in tip top shape. “This update focuses on system glitches introduced by modern operating systems. In related news, you can finally retire those old Mac PowerPCs. Included with the update is a shiny new installer for OSX,” reads the official post for patch 1.14a. Well, fancy that. Diablo II's latest patch before this one was back in October 2011. That's about.. almost five years since then. It seems Blizzard is currently hard at work at HQ. The company says that it's stepping up its game in detecting cheaters and preventing hackers. Blizzard also says that there's still loads of work...
